DIVISIONALSis
our Championship Meet for the season! We have
had a GREAT season, and Divisionals will be a
lot of fun, and the Mighty Cudas get to show our
team spirit and fast swimming! The meet will be
broken into 2 separate meets – the 10 and Unders
swim in the morning and the 11 & Ups swim in the
afternoon. Because it’s divided like this, each
meet will go fast, so please pay attention to
what the Ready Bench is calling and be prepared
to get your swimmer from their event back up to
the Ready Bench in some cases.
The meet will be held
at Magnolia High School, located on FM 1488 west
of FM 2978. The pool is inside, but our team
area will be outside, so prepare for the heat.
Don’t forget to bring your tents, chairs, team
colors, sunscreen & Cuda Spirit! Please make
sure that you and your swimmers stay well
hydrated throughout the day!
10 & Unders
Check in by
7:30 and be ready to warm up
Meet starts
at 8:30 and is expected to end by Noon
11 & Up
Check in by
12:30 pm and be ready to warm up
Meet starts
at 1:30 and is expected to end by 5:30 pm
All age group tents
will be set up for the entire day, but please
note that the 10 & Under Tent Parents may not be
able to stay through the afternoon meet. If
your swimmer is in the Age Group Tent, please be
prepared to stay there with them.
All Stars /
Ponderosa Qualifiers Kristi
Davis sent out an email yesterday 6/21 with
important information about these meets. If you
have any questions please see her this week at
practice or at the check in table Saturday?
VOLUNTEERS: What
a great season it has been! Our team is such an
outstanding group of young men and women. It is
such an honor for me to have a child on this
team. We are known in the summer league world as
a very organized team with great parent
volunteers. Our goal in volunteering is two
fold. The most important goal is to build
community involvement. The second goal is to
keep cost down. We work so well because of each
of you!
Again we are a little
short handed and asking for your help this week
at Divisionals!
Please sign up on team
unify if you can help with any of the following
areas:
Computer Person
1 per session- shoud be really easy just
verifying or something like that. No experience
necessary.
‘Bouncers’
– ensure that people with wristbands are
allowed on deck. There are 4 doors, so 6 people
per session will allow for breaks, etc.
Timers/Scribes
- we still have a few slots left
If you still need to
earn volunteer credits but will not be at
divisionals we have the following areas that
could use your help.
Please email
volunteer@northamptoncudas.com if you
can help out in any of the following areas:
End of season
Concession grill cleaning - this job
gets you 3 credit points! Only one spot for
this one.
Awards Banquet
- Help us to make this the best award banquet
ever. We still need about 4 people on this one
and it will get you all 6 of your volunteer
points.

CONGRATULATIONS to all
Cuda Swimmers on a great meet against Imperial
Oaks last Saturday! We have received comments
that our swimmers, coaches, parents, and
volunteers are fun, respectful, and wonderful to
work with! That’s what the CUDA team is all
about!
We take on the
Woodlands Hurricanes this Saturday at home.
The Hurricanes are considered the powerhouse of
our division, so we will need all swimmers to
get a great night’s sleep, eat a healthy
breakfast and make wise snack choices from the
Cuda Café so we can swim our best! Please have
your swimmers checked in and ready to warm up by
7:00 am on Saturday.
All CUDA Swimmers
should strive for Personal Best
times in every event they swim. The PB awards
are available for all swimmers that have at
least one Personal Best time from Saturday’s
meet at the Monday and Tuesday practices
following each meet.
The CUDAS want to send
a special CONGRATULATIONS to all
graduating Seniors! You are the
leaders of the Cuda Team, and we appreciate you!
Graduating Seniors with
at least 2 years eligibility on the Cudas who
have exhibited leadership characteristics and
set a good example for all Cuda Swimmers are
eligible to apply for the Cuda
Scholarship. This is a program that
was set up in 2004, and provides up to a $500
scholarship for eligible seniors, based on
merit. The application can be found on our
website.

Dish
9-10 -
Desserts
11-14 - Drinks
15-18 - Fruit
How can I help?
Parent
Volunteers! A typical home meet has almost 900
people in attendance. This means that at least
120 parent volunteers are needed throughout the
day.
When you arrive, please
ask where you can help during the meet! Many of
you have signed our volunteer list, but even if
you haven’t, rest assured, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Parental involvement is the key to a successful
meet. With parents helping, our meets will run
quickly and smoothly, and there are less
distractions and delays for the swimmers. Ever
worked the ready bench…it is not as scary as you
think…try it out and you will probably LOVE it!
Want to know how many volunteer credits you
have?
Stop by the
Volunteer table at the Spirit party on Friday or
when you check on on Saturday to find out!

A big THANK YOU to all our volunteers!!
Without the efforts from volunteers, the meets
would literally not run; OR, run so slow that no
one would want the experience.
Did you know that it takes about 120 volunteers
to run a home meet and about 75 for an away
meet!! Yep, that is why we can't do it without
YOU! Thanks again.
Do you still need to
get in your volunteer points?? We are still in
need of timers and scribes for this weekends
meet against Imperial Oaks. Sign up today at

Coaches Corner
Way to go….Congratulations
to the Northampton Cudas on their success at
Time Trials! The swimmers look great and are
getting ready to race against the Sand Creek Sea
Lions at Home this Saturday May 21st! Thank
you to all of our hard working volunteers,
Junior Coaches, and Assistant Coaches that help
make this team GREAT!
Relay
Information:Relays are being finalized
for the meet this Saturday. We can only enter 3
relay teams (12 swimmers) male and female in
each age group. Relays are picked by time only
and if the swimmer can legally do the stroke.
At time trials every swimmer got a time in every
stroke. However, that doesn’t mean they swam
the stroke legally. We are working on getting
all Cudas legal in all 4 strokes. Please
understand that we need to pick the best choices
for the relays so we can go for the win and have
some fun. The relays will possibly change every
meet as every swimmer improves meet to meet. If
your child would like to be on a relay then have
them set a goal to make it to the Top 12 in
freestyle or move up in the individual strokes.
We have a large team and I do my best to
accommodate everyone, make it fun, recognize and
guide every swimmer, and play by the rules.
If you are planning to
show up to the meet late or need to leave early
at any future meets, please let me know for
relay purposes by Tuesday night. If you are on
relay teams A, B,or C in each age group you are
expected to be at the meet and stay throughout.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Things you will
need at the swim meet:chair, sunscreen,
at least 2 towels, Cuda swim caps, goggles, team
suit, fruit and other healthy snacks, granola,
water and juice, permanent marker, games to keep
you busy, music, book to read, clothes, an extra
pair of goggles, Cuda spirit, and a positive
attitude! If you eat sugary snacks and heavy
food items it is best to wait until you are done
with the meet so your energy is consistent
throughout the meet. Also, note that
only CUDA swim caps or solid color caps can be
worn at the swim meets, this includes swim
suits. All other logo swim caps and swim suits
are not allowed at the meet as per NWAL rules!
You will start to see
the Cuda black and lime green swim caps. The
black caps will be worn by the "Junior Coach of
the Week", and the lime green are the "Cuda of
the Week". These special caps are hand picked by
the coaches weekly for their hard work, great
attitude, team spirit, and meet and practice
performances.
